Help Fix Up Bugsy’s Dog Run

I’m sure some of our Astorian clients will recognize this  dog run over by Shore Towers at the edge of the park. Formally known as “Bugsy’s Dog Run” there is a local movement mobilizing to make it a cleaner, happier place for local dog owners and walkers. (And of course, the dogs!)

For those of you interested in helping out please visit the Astoria Dog Owners’ Group on Facebook, where you can see a 3-D model of the redesign proposed by organizer Valentin Mosnegutu, and find out about upcoming meetings.

Photos from Architects for Animals

A few months ago we attended a fun event called Architects for Animals, hosted by the Switzer Group and the Feral Cat Initiative.  You can now view a slide show of the event and the stylish shelters designed for, and donated to, New York’s feral cats.

Marabelle and Lee

Marabelle is a beautiful sweet girl with incredibly green eyes.  I got to meet her the last time I volunteered. She is looking for some love and play and is up for adoption through A Tail at a Time.

I also had the pleasure of meeting Lee, a sweet kitty who had the misfortune of losing his ears to frost bite.  If you’d like to make a donation to help Lee’s recovery or if you’re interested in adopting him please visit atailatatime.org
