Have you seen Donovan?

Jason saw this poster in the neighborhood today, and we wanted to share it here. If you see this big, beautiful boy (and how could you miss him?) please call his owner asap!

The Silver Lining

BabooA month ago today, we said good-bye to our best friend and baby girl, Chester. The timing of Baboo coming into our lives coinciding with Chester’s leaving has been a great comfort to us.  There will never be another Chessie, but this little guy has been a welcome addition to the family, and has been excellent company for our boy Vikter. He’s even picked up Chester’s grooming duties (although Vik seems to do most of the work):

Welcome to the family sweet Baboo!

A Hard Goodbye

This week, with little notice, we had to put our beautiful baby Chester to rest. She brought us so much joy and will be dearly missed. We want to thank the kind staff of the Animal Medical Center for their compassionate treatment towards ourselves and our beloved Chessie. Rest in peace, baby girl.

Introducing Queens Borough Pit Stop

You are cordially invited to join our new Facebook page, Queens Borough Pit Stop, a virtual space for local pit bull lovers, advocates and the pit-curious to ask questions and share stories, photos, event listings and notices on adoptable pit bulls.  Won’t you make Sadie happy and “like” us today?

Found Cat Update

It’s now been a week-and-a-half since we found our little house guest, who we have come to call “Baboo.” Surprisingly, no one has come forward to claim him, nor have we seen any “Lost Cat” listings that match him. Although we haven’t given up hope, this does seem to be a case of abandonment, but as they say, one person’s trash is another person’s treasure, and we are loving every minute of his company! Despite fighting off an eye infection and a head full of mucus, Baboo has the appetite of a champion and the spirit of a saint. He loves to purr and head-butt, and never makes a fuss about being cooped up in the bathroom. We’re eager for him to get well enough that he can meet our other cats. Vikter is especially curious about this new friend, and will spend chunks of time sitting outside the bathroom, chatting at Baboo through the door.

We’re taking him in to All Pets this afternoon to get another check-up. Hopefully he’ll be in shape to greet his public (by which I mean our other cats) sooner than later!
